Photography
Inspirations:
I photograph moments of unsettled stillness with a focus on tension and tranquility. In each of my images I search for a silent spirituality in the captured moment with a focus on material objects and objectified living forms. In doing so, I hope to create a dialogue about the modern state of the human condition and our place as viewers within it.
My images are often cinematic and theatrical in nature, utilizing dramatic lighting and composition to my advantage. I rarely modify my subject but rather alter my location until the composition properly presents itself.
Beauty is easily missed by the negligent viewer, and I try to investigate these lost moments with my images.
The overarching theme of my work is a combination of lost beauty, with a note of cynicism towards our modern society.
My inspirations include Arthur Tress, William Eggleston, and Diane Arbus.
